Getting Here

Where are we

We are about 2.5 hours drive NE of London. 2 hours from Cambridge.  Our nearest train station is Great Yarmouth or Acle. We offer a 10% of a discount for groups arriving on public transport.

Our address is Mill Farm, Hemsby rd, Winterton on Sea, NR29 4AE

Arrival information

The barn has low level external lighting, triggered by movement that comes on at dawn and dusk.

If you are arriving by car we have a car park with space for 5 cars opposite the barn. The barn is across an un-adopted gravel track from the car park.

Keys for the barns are locked in wall mounted key safes. You will need the code to access the key. If you are arriving late please let us know so that we can arrange for lights to be left on.

Public Transport

We offer a 10% discount for groups arriving on public transport, if they book directly with us. Please tell us if this applies before you book. The discount is well deserved though as due to our rural location we are not easily accessible by public transport. The nearest railway station is at Acle or Great Yarmouth. However, once you are here many of the nature spots and walks are very accessible by foot or bike. We do recommend that you order some shopping in advance.

The nearest taxi firms are Cali Cabs California, 07971 501796 or Grant’s taxis on 0783 3392951. They are very reasonable and reliable. You need to call ahead to book your taxi.

If you arrive in Great Yarmouth and want to get this bus to the farm take bus 1 from Great Yarmouth to Winterton on Sea (stop Bulmer Lane), once off it is a short 5-7 min walk along Bulmer lane. Cross the craft and then walk along the footpath on the field margin to the barns on the S bend. We are on the right. Please note that for groups of more than one a taxi can be more cost effetive.

Shops

Winterton its self is not well served by shops. There is a café, fish and chip shop and good pub as well as post office and shop. In the summer months you will be able to pick some home grown seasonal veg from our kitchen garden. Hemsby and Martham have butchers and bakers (2 miles and 3/4 miles) and there is a great fish mongers about 4 miles away in Scratby.

All major supermarkets deliver here and Riverford Organic Box scheme delivers on a Friday.
